The history of the Democratic Party from the black point of view includes Harry Truman who eliminated segregation in the military, Hubert Humphrey who pushed through a very strong civil rights plan at the 1948 convention, Robert Kennedy who fought for civil rights in the South, Lynden Johnson who pushed through the civil rights act of 1965, Affirmative Action Programs. They have delivered a lot - not just promises.
