Where are those forward estimates if the bottom is in... Didn't you hear, companies don't give forward statements anymore ie: KO. Ellison comes out with flat to down revenue and says the worst is over? What a joke.

ps. Here are more comments. Henley starts out brave and then talks out his ass. Notice the words Down and Flat.

We are more optimistic right now than we've ever been since the industry slumped two years ago," Jeff Henley, Oracle's (NasdaqNM:ORCL - News) CFO, said on a conference call to discuss fiscal second-quarter results. "We think we have bottomed out."

Oracle expects third-quarter earnings per share of 9 cents to 10 cents, Henley said, which is in line with current expectations of 9 cents a share on revenue of $2.32 billion, according to Thomson First Call.

A year ago, Oracle had earnings per share of 9 cents on revenue of $2.25 billion.

Henley said he expects Oracle to post revenue that will be flat to up 4 percent from a year ago and license revenue growth to be in a range of down 5 percent to up 5 percent compared with $777 million a year ago.

Mish:

Larry is the consumate salesman. And in spite of his massive insider sales, he still has more product,.... er stock to sell. (g)

I don't think even the N.Y. analysts will buy into this bit of scamarama.

Best, Earlie

Mish, It looks like after they got the suckers to buy this Oracle turkey on the headlines, that the real numbers caused a bit of upchucking. I see it opening down from after hours and slightly up from the close tomorrow morning, and no legs or coattails at all. Ellison has all the credibility of Trent Lott denouncing segregation on a segregated tv network called BET. <g>
