New York Market

Market hours (local time)
8:20 AM - 1:30 PM.

COMEX Division gold futures and options are two ways of trading gold in New York. They provide an important alternative to traditional means of investing in gold such as bullion, coins, and mining stocks.

New York ACCESS MARKET®

Market hours (local time)
3:15 PM - 8:00 AM Mon-Thu
7:00 PM - 8:00 AM Sun.

After-hours futures trading is conducted via the NYMEX ACCESS electronic trading system beginning at 3:15 PM on Mondays through Thursdays and concluding at 8:00 AM the following day. On Sunday, the electronic session begins at 7:00 PM. All times are New York time.

It will be interesting if the futures and options will do justice to their holders in the days to come. Also it is somewhat interesting that these markets are open basically 20 hours a day for New York to be involved. Surprising when we note that these folks are always saying how unimportant the gold market is.

Is the bullion going to outperform gold stocks? Is bullion going to outperform gold options and futures? Are some folks going to be caught holding paper gold while being press to deliver the real item? Don't know but looks to be a possibility.
