I understand every bit of what you are saying. Slavery still exists in Africa and none of them are Americans that enjoy our freedoms. Your concern about possible repercussions from an outlandish restitution spawning hate and resentment is very real and positive and fruitful results would require a great deal of finesse. Native Americans were also unique and special arrangements were made to accommodate the situation. If some sort of restitution was offered to Black Americans, I would recommend some type of scholastic endowment. I don't know, put a billion dollars in a trust fund and let them manage it. I do know that everyone needs to move forward and quite frankly I am tired of hearing excuses for failure. This needs to be put to rest and be done with. * * *
