If I'm not mistaken, hunting with nightscopes is not only unsportsmanlike, but illegal. Spot lighting is, for sure. Where I hunt, you can't shoot 30 minutes before the sun rises or after it sets, even if you can still see.

When I worked in Philadelphia, I tried my best to get a pigeon with a paperclip and rubber band, to no avail.

At least you can be commended for being a "sportsman" and giving the pigeon a fighting chance. I don't consider hunters that use high powered rifles with night scopes to be "sportsmen".
