To me it seems that lots of people feel the same--that options expiration keeps the market from dropping further.

Given this consensus, it would make for the perfect setup for the possibility of a significant drop in the markets this week instead of next. At least that is what I was thinking yesterday...when people least expect it.

it will be interesting to see if the powers that be allow the market to go into a third IRA season in a row with a headwind of double-digit percentage losses. in the past three days it feels like "everyone" has gone from expecting an EOY rally to expecting an EOY dump because "everyone else" is expecting an EOY rally.

i remain almost all cash, with just a handful of cheap jan calls in case mr manipulation decides give the bears one last reaming.
