Few jokes are out of bounds. (A notable exception being jokes about retarded children participating in the Special Olympics.) But Clinton wasn't joking, he was labelling. He knew it and his political operatives knew it, that's why he later apologized. Perhaps you missed the long list of Irish groups which called his slur offensive that was posted yesterday.

Your judgment of which slur was worse is just plain silly. As is your apparent support for affirmative action.

I agree that we need to have a sense of humor, but I fail to see how comparing Lott's stupid insenstivity to Clinton's of equal measure is "ridiculous".
