I dont go into deep water on purpose

There is no deep water in Texas, the rivers are all drained for irrigation and lawns until they are a trickle.

Our biggest, the 1,960-mile Rio Grande is one of the longest rivers in the United States, 24th longest in the world. Its extensive watershed encompasses 335,000 square miles, equal in size to 11 percent of the continental United States. It no longer reaches the ocean as there is not enough water to flow and it just sinks into the sand.
