One of my dogs is a light sleeper and I have a .44 next to my bed. Having a dog and a gun are mainly for show. Sue locks the front door at night but the other 3 aren't locked. Out where I live there just isn't any crime. Now in town it's a whole new ball game. The fairly new jail is full and the county has prisoners in 4 other county jails. One of the saddest things a few weeks ago was when a drug dealer broke into an apartment and wounded a young couple instead of breaking into the next apartment were the rival pusher was living.
