But this is not to deny that QCOM is well positioned from a competitive standpoint going forward. Whether QCOM is worth $40 per share....well, that is another issue altogether.

Try this: Look at the change in book value per share since the company first went public. Adjusted for stock splits, the gain is impressive, to say the least, especially when so many larger competitors have wished QCOM would simply go away.
