I've taken thousands of pics of sports events and I've never taken a picture of black athlete. In my "I'm dreaming of a white turkey" essay I did not take any pics of black children. pbase.com Simple minded shallow thinking need to bean count racists will not see it that way. I take stupidity and hateful ignorance personal. I am simply one of many God created equally.

The fact that you feel you had to explain that you have black friends and inlaws and so forth, is a statement exactly like I am talking about. You should not have had to say that, any more than I should have to say mine are Hispanic-American or Indian or whatever. To me, saying, "I have black friends", is just about as racist a statement as any other. Americans---not hyphen Americans---just Americans...or friends, not hyphen friends no hyphens....when will we get to that point? Americans refuse to grow up in that regard. It is still talk like: "President Bush appoints more (choose your race)hyphen Americans", or "this (choose your race)hyphen American was the first to be elected to..." see my point? When you introduced your girlfriend, did you say, "I want you to meet my African American date, Betty"? When you introduce your nephew, do you say, Meet my half African American, half AngloAmerican nephew, Bobby"? I bet not. Because, to you they are just family right? Democrats are especially good at keeping race as an issue to keep races isolated,IMO. You are right, President Bush is trying to end that. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
