"They've tried to suppress black voting, they've ran on the Confederate flag in Georgia and South Carolina. And from top to bottom, the Republicans supported it. So I don't see what they're jumping on Trent Lott about." You say he's being hypocritical but the above is how I've understood how things were.....and my interaction with Reps over the past ten years, T. Fowler's comments not withstanding, have confirmed these views. I am sure there are Reps who truly are not racially biased but I haven't met them. If I had, maybe I thought they were liberals. <g> And when you think about it, Lott's election to Majority Leader confirms what Clinton said. After all, the other Rep. Senators knew Lott's record and voted for him anyway. In fact, it looks like Clinton is just calling a spade a spade........a white spade that is. ;~)) ted
