Ted, so every Republican you've met is a racist, right?

I personally find that very insulting. You don't?

The latest, prominent Rep. that may have a past is Mr. Ashcroft.......check out this link:

uspolitics.about.com

1. Bob Jones University

Accepting an honorary degree from Bob Jones University doesn't make you a racist.

2. Council of Conservative Citizens

Sending letters in support of someone you think is innocent of the crime he as been charged or convicted of doesn't make you a racist even if the person who was convicted is a member of a racist organization.

3. Pat Robertson

Dealing with Pat Robertson without condemning him also does not make you a racist. For that matter the statements made by Robertson that the writer considers to be racist where made after Ashcroft accepted money from Robertson.

4. Reggie White

So he doesn't condemn Reggie White and that makes him a racist? Please...

5. Southern Partisan Magazine

The best argument yet but not really enough.

6. Gun Owners of America - Really should be Larry Pratt.

Pratt may be a racist but if he supported other causes that Ashcroft supports and Ashcroft thanked him that doesn't make Ashcroft a racist.

The only argument that really holds any water is number 5 and it just isn't enough. Racism is a very serious charge and it should normally only be made with serious evidence.
