But you chose to ONLY make fun of them. Hmmmmm
why only black men? Is Neo a closet racist? I hope not (and I certainly don't think you are). But if we spin your remarks, and you are in public office, and we have a media frenzy you too could be out on your butt. I am not particularly outraged by either. I think Clinton's was the bigger gaffe because it jeopardized more severe matters. But both remarks were only off the cuff remarks not well thought out. Clinton didn't have any Irish tendencies to drink in his mind when he talked about the two drunks, any more than Lott was thinking about how great the segregated South was. They were both speaking without considering the ramifications of what they were saying. EVERYONE does that. If we throw people out for that, we will have politicians that will not speak extemporaneously, and that will hide a lot more evil, imo.

Neo

As much as have great respect for you and nothing you’ve said has offended me in any way, it’s because your motives are pure. The Irish were once referred to as the “N word”s of Europe. When Neanderthal man was discovered in the 17th century, leading scientists dismissed the discovery of another race saying it was just an Irishmen pointing to the small forehead and brow ridge as evidence. During the Civil War there was a huge Irish riot in NY when the Emancipation Proclamation was announced. I wasn’t because they hated “blacks” most had never seen a “black.” They feared competition for their jobs at the lowest level of society. All the while supplying a large portion of the combatants on the Northern side.
