Kulsooma, a 15 year-old high school girl was hospitalized in Srinagar with serious face burns after Islamists threw acid in her face on Aug. 7. Two teachers also were attacked with acid."

Our thread founder, Al, seems to have slunk off into the sunset. I think he's doing Allah a disservice by not standing up to tell us how great things are. From the opening post: "Instead of always reacting to the consistent barrage of articles defaming Muslim women, we have to take the initiative. We have to act first and let others react. We should boldly initiate discussions with our friends and colleagues regarding the true status of women in Islam. Tell them how the Qur'an has ended so many injustices against women found in other scriptures. We have to talk to the media, write to the press, and invite the whole world to read the Qur'an, read other scriptures and compare for themselves." Maybe he's out buying Christmas presents for the wife — some 24k-gold leg shackles and a mother-of-pearl inlaid club.
