Perhaps you are right, I have not read an issue in quite sometime. I read The New York Review of Books, and never felt the kind of disaffection The Nation inspired, and I am pleased that Christopher Hitchens has finally broken with the magazine. As for ugly stereotypes, I am simply reporting a conversation with a major contributor. Perhaps my inference about the degree of compatibility went too far, although it seemed to fit at the time. Cora Weiss, the person referred to, carried the magazine for awhile, but it is possible that Paul Newman is now the largest contributor. I am not current with such matters, and have not seen Cora for a few years.
