I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but I'll give it a try. People's speech varies with circumstance. A poker game, a date, or a family dinner. These have different types of private speech and people adjust accordingly. Public speech is for broader consumption such as speaking at church or a department meeting or a classroom. These circumstances can intersect though. Conversation having dinner with your family at home may be very different than it would be in a crowded restaurant. * * *
