It has to do with the LOTT debacle. Dredging up some OLD news (and hardly NEWS) about some statement that Clinton made that may have mistepped a PC "guideline" is deplorable. Here he was trying to bring the two vindictive and warring sides together, and ultimately succeeding more than any in recent history. This just shows the desperation of Publicans getting their ass kicked about a REAL racist issue HERE. They just can't handle the other side of their Publican PR dept getting DIRT stories on every front page for the past 15 years. This is a real issue about their whole party, their direction, and the Gringrich legacy that lives on.....

The sanctity of that office never was secure :-)

Did you know that the "Father of our Country," George Washington, reportedly fathered an illegitimate son and had an affair with British sympathizer Mary Gibbons? According to my "Deep Throat" source, the Congressional Quarterly, 18th century scandal sheets accused Washington of even turning Mount Vernon into a slave-girl house of joy for his lucky male visitors.

Andrew Jackson was accused of marrying a bigamist. Grover Cleveland was 49, president and the father of an illegitimate child when he married 22-year-old Frances Folsom, whom he'd helped rear after the death of her father. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lyndon B. Johnson and John F. Kennedy all had mistresses as well as wives.

And that's just a few sexual shenanigans. I remember reading some EXTREMELY cruel rhetoric on Adams that had nothing to do with Sex (of course I think Adams is absolutely tarred by the alien and sedition acts, and that forever dims any luster the Adams presidency might have had- but I don't wish to tear away at the man's character). Many people enjoy tearing up the presidency when the opposition (to them) is in power. Then imagine the Shock and Outrage when their ox gets gored. It is all very amusing if you can look at it with any sense of perspective.
