(long) Regarding SHRP and others retail:

Sharp merchandise is selling really, really well. Furthermore, the ionizer/air purifyer device that some investors were concerned about is still seeing good sales (and profits) in spite of the negative Consumer Reports write-up and presence of competing products.

I'd guess the stock got ahead of itself. There's no adverse business news. SHRP continues to report absolutely spectacular (imo) same store sales gains while other retailers (that I follow) are having a lackluster year. SHRP's relatively very high p/e reflects that though. I'm guessing the stock's been hit by profit taking. Perhaps deservedly so.

Still, averaging up, I added a little more to my SHRP position last month @$18.56.

Regarding other stocks relating to the retail sector that I've mentioned in earlier and related posts, I've maintained positions in those stocks...

I haven't read of anyone around here who's sold his/her ANF--- I haven't sold any shares either. I've trimmed the position in ZQK.

I'm looking to buy more NCR if I can get it around 21.

I bought Circuit City (CC) over BBY, and I'm still mulling that decision. BBY is THE company and the one the analysts seem to prefer going ahead. Looking backward, I like CC's p/book, d/e, p/cash, price closer to annual low.

Booksellers: I've recently added more BAMM to my small holdings. I'm moving up from an exploratory position in BKS by continuing to add more BKS this week as the stock has hit new lows.

I decided against MAY for now: while MAY has an excellent history of increasing sales and dividends, I'm leery of department stores. (I'm still holding and suffering with positions in 2nd or 3rd tier regional chains.) I passed on SYM again too.

Averaging down, I have been adding more to the initial Costco (COST)shares I started with.

For anyone who was here for the discussion on outlet malls, I still have shares in MLS. Several were mentioned: I believe the focus was CPG -- Chelsea Properties. Sorry I couldn't see that one - the stock's performed very well (for a REIT and compared to the market in general).
