" Which is a fair enough question, but the same question must be asked by every American; why should we as a country, subject our country to this body? ; un membership is made up of appointed people from countries where in many cases their power was not legitimately won. So as an American with belief in the goodness of Liberty and Justice for all; I want to go on record as a doubting Thomas with respect to everything about the un. Suggesting instead that we should use our foreign aid as it is currently doled out through state Department; to create a NewN where countries whose leadership commits to respect their own citizens according to New standards, erasing once and for all defacto legitimacy accorded crooks masquerading as nations. Under this NewN mind you, we should not care if 1/2 or 2/3rds of these un states make the cut. The current un is about giving voice to the enemy of minority groups the world over. For some I am certain this means the repeal of natural selection as Darwin would have it. Under the guise of political succession; means tests of legitimacy are totally missing, an entire population can be forced to live under a dictators boot for decades and still have a say via the un; in how the US behaves! This is totaly without logic, and American leadership should set a course by which government means testing is implemented, citizens rights secured, and standards for Liberty and justice for all are at the front of the line. Hegemony; not money is the root of all evil. Under it's guise small segments of elitists /oligarchs etc, continue to regulate the well being of entire populations; is it not about time that these types of systems were shown the door? Without giving effect to force fraud or coercion, the US could invite like minded people to a NewN where standards of moral government are more than an after thought? I wonder what % of governments the world over would have the moral courage to subject themselves to a moral means test where individual liberty is the source of it's energy. I doubt many, and so I am the biggest doubting Thomas of all when it comes to the un.
