Is this slander?

Hollywood hatemonger Spike Lee is as stupid as he is spiteful: He has Republican Sen. Trent Lott mixed up with Democrat ex-Klansman Sen. Robert Byrd.

"The man [Lott] is a card-carrying member of the Klan. I know he has that hood in the closet," Lee lied today on ABC's gabfest "Good Morning America."
