IMO the "accounting profession" has little clue how to value patents, OR stock options. Both involve probabilities of future worth which they are ill equipped to value based on the antiquated deterministic methodologies they insist on practicing for the sake of conservatism.

I have to chuckle when some of the folks here, who have learned how to read a financial statement and think they are great investors, start in on this stuff.

For an IP company like Q, the accountant's answer is always conservative, and it is the wrong answer. eom.
