I would love to see the US building schools and teaching a competing lesson, about freedom, and our ideals, and human worth. Of course we would be preaching something totally at odds with Bin Laden's brand of Islam. It is always scary to be confronted with ideas like that. I think we see that everyday on this thread. The reaction to ideas anathema to one's own is often indiscriminate hatred.
