I think the meaning words is very slippery, since our thinking about words all occurs in our unique brains, with each brain processing the word a bit differently (and some processing them very differently). Imagine how different it would be to know a person's real thought, as opposed to the inexact representation of that thought in language. Of course that might cause a lot of problems.

Anyway, I find many of the arguments on SI boil down to a simple misunderstanding over which definition of a given word the people in the conversation are using.
