and it's hard to find any fault with what she said.

Murray said nothing at all, at least according to the article, about the US deserving 9-11, as Vance accused her of. But Vance is a nasty far right politician in a largely moderate to liberal state, so he is constantly frustrated and sometimes -- often? -- says really dumb things.

Smart people learn from everything they can. We are highly unpopular in parts of the Middle East, bin Laden is highly popular. It's just plain dumb not to ask why, and not to ask whether there isn't some way to reverse those perceptions.
