She was talking to high school students. They aren't exactly "school children." They are almost adults. They get drunk on their lunch hours and come back to vomit in classrooms. They come to school stoned. They cut classes to impregnate their girlfriends (or be impregnated). They lead gangs that sell drugs. They do a lot of wonderful things too. But hearing about the good Bin Laden might have done, and understanding that there is more than one side, even to Bin Laden, is not going to turn them in to evil people. They are, for the most part, already the people they will become. Murray's remarks, because they were so different from what people usually say, may have got them to actually think about something. That is NOT an easy task. And it is always good to rock their world a little bit, in terms of ideas. IMO, of course.
