Wow did I write that? Sorry, you caught me making another mistake. I make them far too often. I wanted to agree with what I thought Gottfried was saying but I was wrong. Maybe he was not saying that at all? Here is some other information on Sentiment in the market from Optionetics:

biz.yahoo.com

One sign that bears are not ready to bring down stocks is that bearish sentiment is not increasing enough to drive stocks drastically lower. Prior to this week, stocks had suffered two weeks of losses, but the decline never led to the type of market angst that would suggest that bears were truly in control. For example, trading volume remained relatively light. In addition, the recent readings from the CBOE put-to-call ratio have been market friendly. This indicator gives “buy” signals above 1.00 and “sells” below .50. It averaged .90 in the latest week. In addition, Bollinger's Put Volume Indicator [PVI] remains at a neutral 1.26. This indicator has fallen to extreme lows prior to market tops and rises to highs near market bottoms. It gave its last trading signal on November 29 when it fell to multi-month lows and triggered a “sell”. It has been added to the table below and will be updated weekly.

SNIP: Chip stocks falter and the sectors ongoing woes is a big dis-appointment for tech sector bulls. Without the chips, tech stocks will struggle. SOX testing key support at 300.

Thanks for catching my mistake. We are on the same page now.
