IC. I hope you don't say that these are just a few misguided muslims that interpet the quran the wrong way. Lorne, it is not the first time, nor will it be the last time someone has misinterpreted God’s message. Of course it is possible that they are intentionally using the Qur’an as a false shield for their crimes. There are millions upon millions of muslims like this in pakistan and other musilm countries who honestly believe that the crimes they commit daily is allahs will. Why would allah sentence that 16 year old girl to be burned to death? There are at least 1.3 BILLION Muslims in the world today. You have produced 2 examples of what is also criminal behavior IMO. Even if it there were, as you say, “millions upon millions of muslims like this”, it would still be a relatively small percentage. For you to say that all of Islam is bad because of this small percentage, is tantamount to saying that all Germans are bad because of the Nazi’s, or all Iraqi’s are bad because of Saddam. I think that with the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday less than a month away, it is important to remember his message not to judge individuals based on the color of their skin, or on their religion, but on the content of their character. You and others certainly have the right to promote islam if you choose to but how can any person promote this kind of garbage. There will be many who watched that hollywood type of islam promotional program and come away thinking how lovely islam is. IMO the real islam was shown by Amnesty international. The muslim murderer paid his way out with a COW! A human being, a female human being is not worth more than a cow in islam...... I do not promote Islam, I just tell the truth. I think that the program on PBS “Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet” was important, because it demonstrates that Islam is not as monolithic as you claim it is. It also helped to dispel some of the negative propaganda about Islam that seems to be so prevalent. IC
