I think capturing the hearts and minds of the German people would have been a very good thing. If we could have assisted the Germans in their severe economic depression BEFORE the war, think of the lives that would have been saved. We could have talked about the appeal of Hitler's message. How the German people felt humiliated after WWI and how crippled their economy was. If we had understood how desperate they were, and Hitler's appeal, perhaps we could have averted war. I think Ms. Murray is thinking along those lines.

It isn't about Osama, or Hitler, it is about seeing their APPEAL. Understanding a thing is not an act of treachery.
