I posted the Clinton surplus news to you and you deny it is true. Get real. Everyone knows Clinton left us with a surplus. It's common knowledge reported in every newspaper in the country and you're the first one I've ever heard disputing the obvious. Even Bush admits he was left a surplus. Many many times. That's the reasoning he used to give the very rich their estate tax breaks, remember?
But I don't hold it past right-wingers these days to continuously deny and distort history. The Limbaughs and Hannitys of the world are busy trying to re-write history every day. Like last week claiming democratic programs have been bad for blacks, and that democrats are the racist party, that kind of thing. When in fact Civil Rights wouldn't even exist without the democratic party. Back in old Strom Thurmond days they were considered less than citizens. So right, as if. And I know ALL about the GOP southern strategy, and it has nothing to do with giving the blacks anything, but plenty to do with trying to minimize their votes (like Jeb Bush did in Florida two elections in a row), waving the confederate flag and energizing the harshest zealots in the white Southern Baptist world, many of whom are not very Christian at all. Another one I like is the "Clinton recession" and that the Newt Gingrich congress was responsible for the booming economy of the 90's. Or that those who protested against Vietnam in the early 70's were anti-American. Or that Bush didn't know Kenny Lay very well. Or that the energy crisis was market driven. So many lies and diversions. Why can't they just speak the truth? Because they know they could not win that way? Okay fair enough. But the day of reckoning is coming. You can fool a lot of people a lot of the time but the proof is in the pocketbook come 2004.
