AJ and anyone. How much weight do any of you give to the contrarian short term predictive value to low and high closes of the TRIN and TRINQ? Note the high close of the TRIN may have had predictive value as it concerns the DJIA rally on Friday due to the high level of pessimism all day on Thursday.

I've been looking these indicators over lately and it seems fairly reliable that if we have too high a close on these indices that the market will rally. Conversely if they close on the low side as they did on Friday it is more likely that the market will resume its current downtrend.

Obviously these indicators did not close at absolute low extreme levels on Friday but they were still fairly positive at the close of trading. Probably too positive at this point in time for Friday's rally to have a lot of steam left in it. I think this is especially true since the NASDAQ and SOX closed below their respective 50 day sma's again on Friday despite the low numbers on the TRIN and TRIN Q.
