Yes, send one million dollars in small unmarked bills wrapped in butcher paper and we will resolve all questions concerning grade, permits, mineability etc..

The best way to resolve other people's problems with ore and grade is to do it yourself and make them your own problems. Trying to figure out other people's problems from 1000 miles away is very difficult. The consulting costs are prohibitive.

how bout they build a mine at snap and send that high grade MPV stuff on over for processing since they are 90km apart I think? if this was a plan -then DB couldsit on it as long as it likes since it has a plan. Throw in the plans for JBL which DB thinks has some of the bestest looking diamonds in the world and you've got DB working fullbore on a few fronts. Also keep in mind that DB just 'acquired' (LOL) a large stake in the Grub pipe in Russia (via DB's new interst in AAD) that has a value of $5BB - so they are willing to say.
If DB wants Snap to move ahead - they can do it -witness the earleier problems that they said they were encountering at JBL and the sudden resolution. It's big biz and they play it very well IMO to thier advantage.

Permitting in the NWT is never easy, and De Beers will be no exception, but other than the normal delays upon delays, things will progress "normally". De Beers's revised timeline is more realistic.

How will it prioritize Snap Lake vs. Kennady Lake? Well, I can't imagine anyone seriously deciding to put Snap on hold in order to advance Kennady, if that's what you're suggesting. That'd sure tick off some regulators, which would be a major faux pas. That's the general consensus with most I've talked to, at least.

Remember that the permitting process had taken years for Diavik and Ekati. It's not getting any easier with the cumulative impacts aspect.

As for the problems, well, there's rumours of more dilution required to mine the dike than Winspear's study indicated, but at least some increase was generally anticipated. Their contract miners did a pretty good job of taking the bulk sample in '00-01 and there's a heaping big mound of ore in a stockpile that says it was possible.

Beyond that, mum's the word from a private company.
