Wouldn't it be better to start another
thread because this is such a different
way of investing?

Surely there is more to it than just a
few guidelines, and there are always the
dynamics of the markets changing what are
the right choices of the day (week/month/
year). Therefore the subject would not
die unless, of course, people follow the
threads for the excitement of trading as
much as for the purpose of making money.

Just my thoughts to share -Ed

<<<George. <You cannot count on trading profits.>
Oh yes I can,

this is baloney...no one can for sure count on trading profits...the fact that they say they have made trading profits in the past is all well and good but there is no guarantee of future results...at least there mutual funds do say that, although i'd need bifocals to verify that !

i think you still need to come on here from time to time to tell people how smart and successful you are...and then you find a need to battle with a guy who is quite content to manage a lifestyle based on secure income streams and trade when he sees risk/reward scenarios that work for him.

i'm not sure what you'd want someone to post on income investing...getting a couple of percent from a t-bill is quite secure, anything else is stretching for yield and who knows what might happen to affect your capital...

I know there are some people who can trade profitably most of the time. Zeev Head comes to mind. And I have nothing but admiration for people who are good at this year in and year out.

But trading is hard work and risky. Many traders burn out in time.

I am not knocking trading. Not at all. I do plenty of it myself. Just trying to point out that most people should not COUNT on trading profits to pay the bills. And especially so if they are retired.
