It is possible that the best thing for those countries would be for the US to disengage completely. If the scapegoats for their problems are removed, the people there might finally deal with their corrupt leaders. I don't believe for a secod that we would be left alone by them. They will need to instigate something as a diversion. I think it will be many years before they are dragged into the 20th century, let alone the 21st.
