cfoe: Appreciate your comment and very much hope you are right.

Certainly turning Verizon and Sprint around is like turning an aircraft carrier or a supertanker - takes time.

My wish were that there were a free standing Airtouch with a nationwide footprint. But I admit that is just dreaming.

What worries me about Verizon and Sprint is that both companies have a major wireline and political/regulatory history and that experience makes the Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS second class citizens within each company - with no real practical independence in management or financing. A tracking stock does not signify independence, and Verizon Wireless is not even a tracking stock.

I agree that under those circumstances, Sprint is making significant progress and Verizon Wireless is slowly moving in the right direction.

Very pleased Verizon Wireless has BREW which should be a major advantage. Also pleased Sprint PCS has the wide variety of phones with excellent features.

Again, I hope your view will be shown to be very correct.

Best.

PS Your point about KDDI is right on IMO.
