Ted Re...Its clear that without the President's backing, Lott or anyone else who wanted to be Majority Leader wouldn't stand a chance.

That seems to be clear only to you. From Broders statement Sunday, it was clear GW wanted Frist before Trent commited political suicide. GW just took advantage of Lott's gaffe to get the man he wanted.

Well, if it was clear, it was to everyone but Lott.

And your point is? This may come as a surprise to you, but there is supposed to be a separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches. GW didn't have the power to demand Lotts ouster. Only his fellow republican colleagues could do that.

Someone put a screw in his back between Thurs and Friday AMs.......and it wasn't the Clintons as much as you would like to blame them.

Please provide a link where I ever said that. I said that the sexist pig Bill was preaching to the rep. about morals. Give me a break. Lott was a rep. affair, and they wisely took care of it without Bill or Hillaries help.
