Since the inauguration of this thread was during my last market sabbatical, I a) appreciated the history lesson and b) would like to second the motion about the illuminating effects of contervailing discourse. In that regard a couple of points. While I agree that the current administration is "leading us on a path to ruin", I don't believe that a simple change of administrations will lead to Nirvana. There is a certain inevitability in the effects of a secular bear market that only time can cure. In that regard, I guess my views are nearer those from Austria than from Albuquerque. That's not to say that an enlightened administration could not mitigate the effects of a secular bear, but more to say that a Democrat might be almost as bad in exacerbating the economic effects of a secular bear. Secondly, is your interaction with JW. Perhaps the best way to get along with a tiger is not to tickle it's nose with a feather. JW is a counter puncher. No target, no punch. Just a thought and all JMO. lurqer
