Of course. The same "historical connection" that Greeks have to Western Anatolia, native Indians have to America, etc.


Considering that the American Indians were forcibly cleared off their lands in the 19th century, and the Greeks were forcibly cleared off Western Anatolia in the early 20th, that may be more connection than you suppose. But the Jewish connection is somewhat greater, since not only does it date back 3000 years, but Jerusalem has been a mostly Jewish city since about 1800 at least.
