OT ** >> to part with in the $8-9 price range,

Possibly zero. The issue then will be how the inventory situation is at the end of the holiday selling season.

The short position in WDC increased from 5m shares to 12m (at mid-December).

This means Funds bought Seagate and shorted WDC. Seagate is sinking. WDC is recovering. Today STX dropped 16c, and WDC rose 30c. The coupled play is unravelling.

So with WDC short position higher than ever, and their earnings higher than ever, and P/E over the conservative run rate is at 10, I am in no hurry to sell.
