I rarely cite St. Augustine, nor even Thomas Aquinas. Compared to others, it might seem a lot, but in itself, there is very little. I have been much more likely to cite Kant, Nietzsche, and Aristotle, and I do not even cite them much in a given month........

I generally cite people when I am referring to their ideas, in order to make it clear that they have a source, that I am not making things up. I do not generally cite people as authorities, per se. And, in any case, it is simply the case that my position on abortion is independent of any ecclesiastical tie........
