We've made it almost 30 years without revolution or civil war and with Roe v. Wade. A lot better record than Dred Scott had.

War or lack of it doesn't really indicate how well a court case reflects the applicable law. A perfect decision in terms of accuratly reflecting the law (in this case the constitution) could result in war if it is unpopular and tensions where inflamed over the issue. Most aweful decisions do not result in war or the US would have had a whole bunch of civil wars...

I doubt there would be a civil war under a regime where each state took up the issue for itself. Nor was there a civil war, or threat of one, before Roe v. Wade. So I am baffled by your point.......
