This is nuts... why should they have to go through another report to the govn when they completed one already... The fbi should get the information from immigration or request to be copied... It is additional exercises that cost the private industry dollars that are unnecessary imo.... If one report has been generated then they should be able to access the report and not request one on their own...

Where do they think the manpower is coming from to supply the information?.. Its certainly not free.

I can remember when working ,, several years ago... we would have to complete about 10 reports for the govn. What they did with them who knows... I hope we get more tech in gov so they can access central files and reduce costs.

Why is American Academia fighting this? These students are here on Visas. They have no protection against having their BG checked. This continued attempts to enforce "PC" is going to get people killed. Hopefully, the courts will find for the Government in these cases.

I see it more as an attempt to mask the fact that US govt agencies do not share data. Every foreign student who applies for a student visa goes thru a fairly complex process including all kinds of background checks at the local consulate, before being granted a visa. So, all that info is available to the govt, even before the student leaves his/her home country.
