Goldman Sachs upgrade of Tokyo Electron. Jeff << Asian stocks were mixed, but Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose 2.4% on strength in technology, transportation and chemical shares. On the corporate front, Tokyo Electron Corp. (TOELF,41) and Advantest Corp. (ATE,11.15) were upgraded by a Goldman Sachs analyst, citing expected capital spending increases next year. >>

I've not listened to their CC's (if they were held ??), so I don't know whether they exaggerate, or understate. I have nothing against their management. I think the idiots were the funds that voted for the LBO. They should have stopped it and fired the directors and executives. But I have a great deal of respect for Matt Massengil. I've heard a story that when he closed the Minnesota SCSI facility, he flew there in an ice storm in January to deliver the bad news in person to the engineers who were being laid off. I've never had a reason to doubt his integrity. So when he says WDC will exceed the guidance, I know he is 100% sure of that. And if something negative had occurred, he would have announced it. With Mr. Luczo, I just don't know. Sarmad
