"Wasn't it the left in America who accused conservatives of "starving" the innocent people of Iraq "

No I believe Amnesty International broke that story.... and many liberals and conservative (John McClouglan ..sp) have mentioned it often... But it is the Bushies who made the claim that Saddam is using the revenue for WMD and continue to do so according to another feather in the right wing,ie Prolife.

But you now seem to be ambivalent....you agree that we buy his oil, but you also agree, if you support W, that it's being used for weapons... Now if we are sincere and want to help the Iraqi people with food and medicine but deny Saddam the money for weapons, why don't we stop the oil purchases from him and let other nations more friendly to him purchase his oil. If we are really really sincere we could ship food and medicine directly....

re: Saddam's or peoples oil.... ???? Whose oil is in Alaska, the American people or Cheney's cronies..????

From what I understand about the oil for food program, is that saddam gets cash kickbacks on every barrel of oil from the oil companies working the program.
