The point is that obesity (not just being fat, but HUGE) is apparently a hormone disorder. This is what we are told by the attorneys of the obese who claim special seats in airplanes, anyway <g>

Seriously, if 60% of a whole population is superfat or obese, there just might something going on in their food, especially considering the fact that they are being fed animals hyped with growth hormones - a chicken in Europe looks like the baby of a chicken in the US. Seriously. I was amazed the first time one came before me in a restaurant in the US.

I would think any such claim would not stand the test of objective science...

Yes. I would think so. In fact, I do not know why there are no studies in the US about the possible connection between obesity and hormone-hyped food.

And now there is genetically modified food. There is unease in Europe about it, especially since there is no study on long-term effects of every single GM food.

Europeans take one look at Americans and just do not trust they know what they are doing regarding food.

This is not to say they are correct, of course, but there is doubt.

Italian Sausage, Pepper, and Onion sandwiches, one of my favorite comfort foods...

Awww, don't do that to me! <g> I have been eating salad and soup for a while now....

By the way, look into the Montignac Diet - all you need to do is eat carbohydrates and proteins separately. Eat all the meat (protein) you want, accompanied by salad, but no rice, bread, or pasta (carbohydrates). Similarly, if you eat pasta, do it with tomato sauce and not meat sauce and no cheese topping. I lost 13 kg (20% of my body weight) in 10 months only keeping these in mind, no excercise, sitting at a desk for 12 hours a day.
