Jim - thanks. A couple of things jumped out at me
-----
Further in the release it was explained that
pursuant to Samsung's election regarding the Nokia patent license agreement
under its MFL rights, that its royalty obligations for sales of 2G and 2.5G TDMA
based wireless products commencing January 1, 2003, will be determined in
accordance with the terms of the Nokia patent license agreement.
------

my comment- I hope he means commencing Jan 1, 2002

---------

Thus, if you assume Samsung will sell roughly 32 million handsets
in 2002 and factor that by an assumed royalty rate (we believe this could fall
between .005 and .0075) on an $200 ASP, in our opinion the 2002 revenue
contribution from Samsung could be anywhere from $32 million to as high as $48
million.

---------

my comment - the agreement is for TDMA handsets only. Scot is using Samsung's total handset shipments (including CDMA) for his calculation. IDCC does not have a cdma license with Samsung.

It seems Scot gets a lot of info from your RB board - I hope he is successful in building constant communication with the company too.

Thanks again Jim
