Thanks Lindy Bill It is more or less reflecting the reality, with some misunderstandings. It is true that Chavez plays the Socialist- Communist song of social Justice , But he hasn't done any thing to better the lower class situation, he had more then 100 Billion $ in income , Versus 50 Billion for the preceding Government and he didn't spend on , Housing , Hospitals, Schools, Roads, Electricity or water system, or on any investment for the poor,: most of the money was spent on forming his political platform, his Militias and on the worst corruption seen in Venezuela, it is true that there was a strong corruption before him but not so rampant as it is today. Now you have a new Sector of New Rich, composed of: Ministers, Directors and public employees and many Officers in the army, many of which became BILLIONAIRES in the last 4 years Venezuela was advancing towards a more just state and more decency, In Venezuela we managed to take down a president on corruption , he was judged and condemned while being in power: Carlos Andres Perez. We had independent powers. today they disappeared, might be the reason for the Nation not coming strongly for Chavez is because they realize he is not really a socialist but a vulgar Dictator . The opposition union is not only between CTV and Fedecamaras, it is also the State owned OIL industry, The Health Sector ( Public and Private) , most of the Transportation sector ( Teamsters) most of the Gremial Unions, ( Lawyers, Engineers , Accountants, BA etc. ) And most of the public workers, as an example you have that taxes are not being paid or collected, most IR Inspectors, officers and workers are also on strike. The CTV is the confederation of Syndicates and it controls more then 80 % of the nation workers, Chavez has a strong antagonism even in the Barrios ( FAVELAS; or ShantyTowns) and it is untrue that the unnatural union between workers and Business sector is widely criticized , that is one of the miracles that Show the widespread antagonism to chavez. and it is not deflating , on the contrary day by day you have more sectors adhering to the Strike. Just as an example of Corruption: Congress approved Budgets are not respected, Money is taken out of Central Bank without any budget allocation, Just las week two armored Army Vehicles were loaded at night at the central Bank With Dollar Bills and Newly Inorganic Printed Bolivar, One truck went to the main army Garrison and the other to the Miraflores Palace ( Our White House) for unknown expenses. The Newly discovered Huge Gas Fields were budgeted to get 1.2 Billion in entry fees in public offerings. They were given away in direct secret deals and only 60 Million $ were received. At a smaller level but widespread for petty officer accommodation: the Gasoline trucks delivered to the gas stations are commanded by an officer, they deliver and are paid by the Gas Stations in cash with no invoice or receipt The Cuban Captain that docked theOil flag Ship was paid 200.000 $ for 4 days work , and so on The Vice Presidents wife is an ""Artist " before he was in power she would´nt sell her paintings and statues for more than a couple hundred $ a piece, now she sells them for Tens and Hundreds of Thousands $ a piece ( What a Washing Machine , Laundering) Spain's Prime minister is upset with him for many reasons, some are: When there was a Cumber Of Latin Heads of State in Spain . Chavez flew in with two plain loads of acolytes, He didn't assist to the Meeting and instead gave a press conference declaring that it is a loss of time and Aznar is not Serious, then went on a Buying Rampage in Madrid's best Malls. Also there is the problem of a Spanish Citizen murdered on April 11, for which the spanish Judge Garzon is demanding an independent inquiry with no answer from Chavez, this Judge is now after Chavez as he was after Pinochet. Today's NEWS : The Coordinadora offered that if Chavez accepts an early date for General Elections , Every thing will inmidiatly go back to normality
