Tom, you asked- “Has Reliance said anything about using BREW yet?”

I don’t recall seeing anything from either Reliance or Qualcomm regarding BREW on the new Reliance networks. It would appear to be a perfect fit and could take advantage to the high number of software engineers in India writing new application programs. One really has to give the Reliance folks a lot of credit in the creativity they appear to be employing in developing and promoting their business plans. Perhaps Qualcomm is holding back their $200 Million investment awaiting a firm commitment from Reliance for BREW.

The real answer to you question is statement number 5 from Ben’ article- ““While it is anybody’s guess — as yet — of how the CDMA cookie will finally crumble,”

1..“We want to provide a platform where lakhs of people can work with us in >>>>>>>>developing applications<<<<<< to be used on the Reliance mobile platform. We already have about>>>>>> 100,000 people working with us <<<<<<<<<<and we want more to join,” he added.

2..“chairman Mukesh Ambani is calling it the “world’s largest mobile data launch”.

3. “This will be the birth of convergence. The birth of television or a computer on a mobile screen,” chairman Mukesh Ambani said

4. “range of services such as Bollywood film clips, clips of cricket matches and range of other applications, including magazines and instant messaging services. “

5. “While it is anybody’s guess — as yet — of how the CDMA cookie will finally crumble,”
