My memory is not what it used to be but you got me wondering over what timeframe AMAT was able to double their cash position. Looking back to the filing for April 26, 1998, I see that AMAT's cash and cash equivalents and ST investments totaled 1.21B. The most recent Q had a comparable number of 4.929B. Did AMAT really quadruple their cash position in a four year timeframe? And further, what type of growth of cash can we expect going forward? Surely not a quadrupling from here in only four years.
