I see an administration dominated by stupidity who openly states it wants to deal with NK diplomatically but labels the other party a member of the axis of evil without provocation and purpose, other than to intimidate its leadership

Don't be a damned fool. Can you HONESTLY be arguing that NK is NOT part of an "axis of evil"? Prolierating nuclear weapons, distributing delivery systems to the highest bidder, oppressing its people so that it can build nuclear and other WMD? Is THAT not provocation enough for you?

"Domestic politics will also be a negative. Expect an Iran-Contra type scandal stemming from abuses by members of the bellicose faction within the White House. Hawks like Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld are playing fast and loose and will make a big mistake soon, which his Pentagon foes will duly leak. While a scandal may hurt Bush's chances in 2004, his enactment of sizable tax cuts and a quick victory in Iraq should mean strong approval ratings through 2003, pleasing the market."

Al,

This comments above were made in a broader article about the economy that I posted this AM. This is the third or fourth time I've heard reference to Rumsfield playing it fast and easy, and running against the grain. I hear that many of the top military advisors [read generals] and many of the non military advisors are extremely frustrated with his behavior, and suggest he is a major asshole behind the scenes. In addition, the word is that Rumsfield's closest confidante re the war effort is none other than N. Gingrich, the Georgia professor, whom I understand can play a masterful military leader......on gameboy! <g>
